  1. Cara, I think when people refer to “chemicals in food,” they’re referring
to the ones made in a lab. Yes, all things are made of chemicals. Not all
things were artificially made by us.

  2. What is rubin doing there? does he have considerable knowledge in the
boring world of sport? is he usefull at TyT sports? cause he’s not
contributing much to scientific and political discussions

  3. Is there anyway we can keep Santa the mouth ring from filibustering the
    conversation?

  4. ‘Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever
    conceived.’-Issac Asimov
Let the kid read the stupid thing.

  5. I think the only argument for banning a kid from reading the bible in free
reading class would be if that was all the kid was reading. You want to
read the bible once, fine, but education is supposed to be about expanding
your horizons, not re-reading Dick and Jane over and over again. Also from
the audio I get the impression that this wasn’t a one time issue, maybe
we’re talking about crazy religious parents that are telling their kid not
to read anything else? I don’t know the whole story however and it does
sound like an over reach by the teacher. Sadly this is going to play big
    in the right wing media.

  6. +Rubin Report I maybe wrong here, but I heard the teacher say that the
student wasn’t reading from the curriculum, he was supposed to read from in
the free reading hours. And I suppose (I don’t know) that this reading hour
is to read books from a certain list and the students are free to choose
    from that list???
That’s what it sounded like to me, but I could be wrong. And the free
reading hour doesn’t sound like free time, but just free choice of books
the school provides as education (and since it was a public school no
bibles, korans, thora’s or any other holy book/scriptures).

Teaching history certainly needs to adress all religions that were ever
made and that certainly means that christianity will be named, but no more
    then other religions.

  7. Is the bible a “book”? I think the teacher wanted the students to read a
novel. The writing style of the Bible will not help you in anything in life
except pushing religion on others… Curious why nobody at TYT saw this
    angle.

  8. It’s not fundamentally about women having the body part = women alone can
decide what is done with it, it’s the reality that a fetus is not a person
and therefore does not get treated as such and therefore it’s up to women
to decide. Imagine if a fetus had full cognitive capacity–wouldn’t that
gaurantee the right to not be terminated at the whim of someone else?

  9. I’m surprised in&out wasn’t on that list. Do they still put the bible
verses on the bottoms of their cups?

  10. Even as someone who is pro-choice that abortion video makes me so sad….
    :/

  11. I like that even as big science girls they recognized a person’s right to
read whatever the heck they want.

  12. I had to get a root canal on my broken teeth after a hockey injury. I was
traumatized that I was going to loose those teeth. I can only imagine the
horror and or sadness when women have to go through an abortion.

  13. Did I just hear Jaclyn Glenn say that there shouldn’t be a cut off for when
abortions can be performed? That’s insane. A woman who is 8 months pregnant
is carrying a human inside of her. An abortion at that point would
be murder. What the hell? At some point in a pregnancy the woman loses the
right to choose the fate of the human insider her. I don’t know exactly
when that point should be but I’m sure it should be closer to the beginning
of the pregnancy than then end.

  14. 1st story: Its not surprising that some people or teachers dont want
religious books in their class, but only in America would the family take a
    lawyer because of that.

  15. I’ve seen an abortion in person(training to be a nurse) and let me tell
you, it’s invasive, painful and I bet nobody likes to receive one. That
being said, if I were a woman and I had an almost parasitic entity growing
inside of me, feeding off my energy, something alive but not a person just
yet, not until it can live on its own if removed from my womb(around 6-7
months I think), but you’re not allowed to terminate a pregnancy when the
fetus is viable, unless your life is in immediate danger. Before that, it’s
strictly MY CHOICE to make since the fetus is entirely dependent of me and
MY BODY. I think it should be used as a last resort, but you should always
try to use other forms of birth control and not need one.

  16. In case it hasn’t started yet, Fox News is guaranteed to cover the story of
that teacher telling her student he can’t read the Bible for months now.

  17. If you remove the parentheses from the title this becomes a much different
    episode of The Rubin Report.

  18. my favourite rubin report video yet…more stuff like this…you and ana
should do some intelligent videos like these…

  19. You want empirical evidence for Jesus Christ’s existence?
That is just hilarious LOL Always empirical empirical emprical change your
names to empirical! Find empirical evidence for Christopher Columbus! Or
you guys do not believe he existed either.
History is not done that way! You can never prove anyone(before 1800’s)’s
existence with that kind of standard!
With this kind of standard it just gets funny when atheists talk about
    historic characters before 1800’s.

  20. So it is your right to destroy that life that 2 people helped to create? It
is OK for you to destroy his seed? The male counterpart should have to
    consent.
You agreed to fertilize that egg. Both of you. You should both have to
acknowledge what you are doing. No you are generalizing. I myself believe
in abortion if someone is raped or if you both agree that you acknowledge
what you are doing because that is free will. I also beleive in the use of
condoms and sex education for high schoolers and at the proper age.

  21. 2 and a half years!!!!!!! Jesus fucking Christ! Are you guys crazy.
2 and a half years in prison just for uploading a naked picture???
    That’s insane.

  22. A good, intelligent discussion that contained a lot less millennial fluff
    and well presented.
    Nice to see, Dave.

  23. Thank you! It was very cool getting to see Jaclyn, and Cara in the same
    place sharing ideas!
