‘Star Trek’s Kate Mulgrew on geocentrist film: ‘I was a voice for hire, and a misinformed one’

Star Trek: Voyager and Orange Is The New Black star Kate Mulgrew released a statement online on Tuesday saying she was misled about her participation in the “geocentric” film The Principle.

“I am not a geocentrist, nor am I in any way a proponent of geocentrism,” Mulgrew said in her statement. “More importantly, I do not subscribe to anything Robert Sungenis has written regarding science and history and, had I known of his involvement, would most certainly have avoided this documentary. I was a voice for hire, and a misinformed one, at that.”

Sungenis’ film, which argues that the sun revolves around the Earth, was scheduled to be released this spring. As The Raw Story has previously reported, the filmmaker is also behind the blog “Galileo Was Wrong.”

Mulgrew also said in her statement that she supported physicist Lawrence Krauss’ allegation that he was also misrepresented in the film.

I am relaxed now. Was a little worried about my Captain Janeway for a moment.

Whew. Between geocentricism and that burgundy Sharon Osborne hack job on her hair, I was starting to lose my faith in old Janeway. This is good to hear.
