The more I find out about Elizabeth Warren, the more I realize that we are looking at a future president. It’s pretty hard to not like and respect this incredibly sharp, uber-intelligent woman (and we all know how I dig smart chicks :P). Self-made, independent, humble roots, a youth loaded with incredible challenges. Despite being a mother of two at a VERY young age, she rose to the top merely on her own merits, becoming president of Harvard. She has obviously never forgotten where she came from.
Despite the fact that she’s a democrat (a rather moderate-liberal one), there is simply nothing to dislike about her.
Watching her deal righteously with the GOP prick-tards during her senate confirmation hearings in Obama’s effort to appoint her as head of the newly formed Consumer Finance Protection Bureau that she herself helped pioneer. She was of course denied, thanks to her stance on NOT working with the financial-sector-mafia to their favor. That whole ordeal told me all I needed to know about her. She had already won my respect back then. From there, it has all been uphill. Make no mistake about it, she lost the confirmation because it was clear to the old guards of the oligarchs that she is un-corruptible. There is no other reason.
Alas, in fact, her NOT getting the job was probably the best thing that could have happened. For her, and the country. She was clearly over-qualified for it anyway. Despite her zeal and best intentions, her talents would have been wasted there. She will make a lot more headway and bust a lot more oligarch balls as a Massachusetts senator. And trust me, she will win that election.
So all I can say is “thank you” to the idiotic GOP. They may not realize it yet, but they have ultimately done the country a world of good. They have awoken a sleeping political giant in Elizabeth Warren. She represents a new breed of politician and leadership that this country not only desperately craves. It sorely needs.
The only question now is… when? 2016, or 2020?
Just remember, you heard it here first.
