Morality, Atheists, and William Lane Craig… – VIDEO

Atheism is apparently false because this “objective morality” thing that atheists don’t believe in points to a “God” that theists still haven’t proven exists.

This channel is satire. I make no apologies for satire. It is not meant to be in-depth Bible study. John Smith encourages you to read the Bible for yourself and come to your own conclusions. Do not take anybody at their word (not even me). John Smith does not claim to be a “Biblical expert.”

I do encourage debate, but I would highly discourage animosity and character attacks. Theists are well within their rights to object to my videos. It is in our best interests as atheists and skeptics to attack their ideas and arguments and not them personally. Remember most atheists were once “otherwise intelligent” theists.

We can see religion both in the bible and contemporaneous history adapting to the changing moral values of civilization not civilization conforming to religious dogma.
This is what we predict we should see in a completely natural world.

"i dont believe in object morality", 30 seconds later "murder is wrong". duuuuh.
if there is no objective morality, murder is not wrong, ending someones life isn't wrong, it makes no difference if it is their "only one", or if you'll hurt their family, etc etc, none of these consequences have an innate moral value. if you don't believe in objective morality, moral wrongs and rights do not exist for you. the most you could say is that murder is taboo. funny how a clown like you thinks he could take on a world class scholar like WLC.

Ah, goodness. Another atheist clown, complete with silly pictures and a funny voice to cash in on all the 12 year olds they want to make a living from.

4:26 so, had to see what the context is on the Dawkins quotemine. here's how wikiquote has it:"The total amount of suffering per year in the natural world is beyond all decent contemplation. During the minute it takes me to compose this sentence, thousands of animals are being eaten alive; others are running for their lives, whimpering with fear; others are being slowly devoured from within by rasping parasites; thousands of all kinds are dying of starvation, thirst and disease. […] In a universe of blind physical forces and genetic replication, some people are going to get hurt, other people… Read more »

Being a biologist, Dawkins was probably referring (factually) to natural selection.

I never argue morality until we can agree to a definition. In every "debate" I see, this seems to be the real argument. If you are just going to call morality "god's nature", it doesn't really get us anywhere. It also doesn't solve the dilemma they think it does.

Lee Gilliam

Cat Kills Mouse = Man Slaughters Livestock! Not: Man Kills Child. Silly fucking stupid comparison. Now if the Man goes on to eat the Child…

But, but, where do you get your morals from?

It always boils down to the babies at some point.  Oops, did I just say that?

Amber Scott

I am a secular humanist and I think morality is more complex than objective vs. subjective. What is objective is that is morally wrong to harm another person. What is subjective are things that don't harm others or may or may not harm them. Take child abuse for example. I think we can all agree child abuse is wrong. But what is child abuse? Spanking is common practice in the south but many think it just harms children. Those that do spank think they are improving their kids, a little pain now to save them from a lifetime of pain.… Read more »

I'd rather have a subjective morality that is against rape, slavery and pedophilia. Than an objective morality that isn't.

Funny thing is, between your channel and Bible Reloaded, I probably get more bible study in than most christians that actually believe their book of fairy tales.
It's amazing what happens when you actually read a book line-by-line, as opposed to believe in a book that someone else tells you about. I didn't become an atheist until I sat down and actually read the new testament for myself.

yes. Don’t need any threat from a myth to be good.

@L07012015 Thanks! I wanted to make a responds myself but was afraid of Dr. Craigs “morality” suing me. Your video is great.
