I like the Nordic nations, but it might be worth checking the personal debt levels of Danes :/

So what? Compared to the US it’s an apples to oranges comparison. Especially when you consider that Danes don’t have to worry about saving like crazy for their retirement like Americans do. Thanks to a rock-solid public-backed pension/social security system. Not to mention that while Danes hold the highest levels of debt in the industrialized world, they also save quite a bit. Most Danish homeowners have significant equity, which isn’t based on a bubble (the market has recovered nicely since a crash in 2007). I’ve spent a lot of time in Denmark.
