President Donald Trump told reporters that the Democrats’ vote on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism was “disgraceful because the Democrats have become an anti-Israel party. They have become an anti-Jewish party.” The resolution was a response to recent comments made by Rep. Ilhan Omar that were widely criticized as anti-Semitic, though House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the vote was “not about her” but “about these forms of hatred.”
Trump also said his former lawyer Michael Cohen told “a stone-cold lie” when he said he did not seek a pardon. Cohen told a Congressional committee he has never asked for a pardon from Trump.
The president made the remarks before leaving for Alabama to tour the damage from a deadly tornado that killed 23 people.
