1. Not to piss on anyone’s chips here, but this is, as politicians say, “taken out of context”. The words are spoken to King Benhadad by a woman during the siege of Samaria by Syrian forces. The incident is used to illustrate the extreme starvation of the people of the besieged town. On hearing about the cannibalism, the king goes mental and starts going on about wanting to decapitate Elisha, who prophesied the siege and the subsequent suffering of the Samarians.

Know your enemy: if we’re going to defeat the Christians, we need to know this ridiculous book better than they do.

  2. Hey David, are you fucking serious??? Not to piss on your little condescending lecture, but it’s a fucking MEME. The point of the meme is to accentuate the BATSHIT that is in the bible. Context??? Is there such a thing as context when it comes to the nutty narrative of the bible?? Something tells me that you haven’t even read it if you think that there is a point that can be made for CONTEXT. For fuck’s sake.

First of all, let me explain something to you. Atheists don’t need to worry about how information is presented. Really, we don’t. Why? Because we (at least the atheists I know and discuss with), are on the side of REASON, LOGIC and SCIENCE. There is no need to sell any of those things.

Second of all, there is NOTHING I can’t stand more than annoying, anal, self-aggrandizing boneheads who think that they are in some kind of battle or war with believers. Guess what? We’re not. This is NOT a fucking war, and there is NO fucking enemy. Stop acting like it is. All that is going on is a discussion/debate that sometimes turns spirited and passionate, that exposes blinded believers to the truth, and gets them to start THINKING. That’s it. Stop deluding yourself, and for fuck’s sake, don’t lecture other atheists on what they do or say. You don’t make the rules. Got that? Good.
